The foundation of BAS dates back to 1962. It began with six employees, two workshops, and dealerships for Volvo and Hanomag-Henschel. In the 1960s and 1970s, BAS grew into a major player in the Dutch trucking industry. In the 1980s, Martin van Heertum took over BAS and propelled the company onto the global stage. This included securing dealerships for Volvo and Renault in the Netherlands, as well as DAF in Germany.
BAS made a name for itself internationally and has been at the forefront of the trade of new and used equipment. With the new generation at the helm, brothers Caspar and Bas van Heertum have continued the developments since 2001. A new headquarters, new branches, and new services were established, all aimed at providing comprehensive solutions to transport organizations. This includes vehicles, machinery, parts, and all associated services.
